The BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha promotes energy conservation through awareness campaigns and through responsible operations of its facilities. The organization utilizes solar panels, bio-energy (renewable natural gas) and green construction techniques, and the organization also promotes a vegetarian diet which helps to reduce the carbon footprint of human consumption. These initiatives build momentum and encourage other members of the community to move towards more sustainable lifestyles. One such example of this work is the use of solar technology to supply all of the power needs of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir and Cultural Complex in Chino Hills, California. Leading by example in the area of energy conservation is the foundation of our environmental work.
