The sages and seers of India produced some of the finest art pieces in all of history. In Bhagwan Swaminarayan’s time, Muktanand Swami and many other sadhus and devotees were inspired to pursue traditional forms of painting, design, and sculpting. Muktanand Swami had mastered a traditional form of art in which he could paint pictures with his feet while dancing to Indian folk music or classical music! The BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha encourages children to cultivate their fine arts skills from a young age. It organizes art competitions, exhibits, and fairs to showcase the talent of young artists. BAPS awards a number of scholarships to young artists to pursure further training and education at renowned art institutes. Pramukh Swami Maharaj has also inspired many sadhus and volunteers to study and research ancient styles of art in an effort to revive those art forms.
