Tirupati is a renowned pilgrimage site in the state of Andhra Pradesh, South India. There, within the sprawling campus of the National Sanskrit University, the Akshar-Purushottam Darshan Mandapam was inaugurated as part of the special ‘Bhashyotsav’.
Under the collective decision of the university's Vice-Chancellor, Shri G.S.R. Krishna Murthy, and its administrators, the Akshar-Purushottam Darshan Mandapam was inaugurated on the university campus, alongside the mandapams for other philosophical traditions.
Organized by the Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR) and the National Sanskrit University, the ‘Bhashyotsav’ celebrated the commentaries of various Vedic traditions. Mahamahopadhyaya Bhadreshdas Swami presented and elucidated upon the Akshar-Purushottam Darshan as revealed by Bhagwan Swaminarayan.
On 2 August 2025, the sacred murtis of Shri Akshar-Purushottam Maharaj and Pramukh Swami Maharaj were installed with Vedic rituals in the Akshar-Purushottam Darshan Mandapam. Pujan of these murtis had been performed by Mahant Swami Maharaj on 15 July 2025 in Bochasan.
As part of the murti installation ceremony, a Vedic yagna was performed on 3 August 2025.
In the yagnashala, professors of the university's philosophy department were felicitated with ‘Akshar-Purushottam Darshan Prashasti’ certificates.
Paramatmik Yagna, based on the Vaikhanasa Agama scriptures, was also performed by expert scholars as part of the installation ceremony.
As part of the Bhashyotsav on 4 and 5 August, the organizers arranged a special procession. During the procession, the commentary texts (bhashyas) of various philosophical traditions were carried in palanquins and honored with pujan and arti.
Mahamahopadhyaya Bhadreshdas Swami, author of the Prasthanatrayi Bhashya, performed pujan of the acharyas of the Vedanta tradition.
Scholars from over 10 states across India offered pujan to the murtis of Akshar-Purushottam Maharaj and Pramukh Swami Maharaj, followed by the collective worship of the commentaries (bhashyas) of various traditions.
On 5 August 2025, the Mandapam was inaugurated by His Excellency Dr. Haribabu Kambhampati, Governor of Odisha; Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand; and Mahamahopadhyaya Bhadreshdas Swami. The Governor and the Chief Minister offered pujan to the murtis.
On this occasion, inspired by Param Pujya Mahant Swami Maharaj, the BAPS Swaminarayan Research Institute, Akshardham, Delhi, presented this prestigious Sanskrit university with the 'Sanskritmahalayamanih' award.

Other university professors were felicitated as part of the ‘Adhyapaka Sammanam’ program.
On this occasion,  Mahant Swami Maharaj bestowed his blessings through a video message: "My prayers and blessings that all students studying at this university may progress in their chosen fields of knowledge and serve society; may everyone’s faith in God increase; may all receive spiritual strength; and may everyone’s life become virtuous and full of devotion."
On this occasion, Param Pujya Vijayendra Saraswatiji Maharaj, Shankaracharya of the Kanchi Math, also sent his special blessings via a video message. He stated: " The Swaminarayan Akshardham organization is actively engaged in devotion and service. Our Guruji, Anantashri Vibhushit Shri Shri Shri Jayendra Saraswati Maharaj, had told us about this organization. It is a place of upasana, service, and even aesthetics, and as such, it embodies the principle of ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’ (Truth, Auspiciousness, and Beauty). There is nothing here that goes against Dharma. Work on tattvagnan is also being done through the medium of the Sanskrit language. Bhadresh Swami has composed such a profound text. His knowledge, faith, and love in this research have fostered strong relationships not just with devotees but also with scholars."
Mahamahopadhyaya Bhadreshdas Swami stated: "India is the land of timeless Sanatan Vedic Darshans. From time to time, various schools of thought have emerged on this land. The Akshar-Purushottam Darshan, as revealed by Parabrahma Swaminarayan, is also a Vedic Sanatan Darshan in this lineage. Pramukh Swami Maharaj and Mahant Swami Maharaj have honorably propagated the Indian philosophical tradition throughout the world."
Shri Harekrishna Satapathyji, Former Vice-Chancellor, National Sanskrit University, Tirupati mentioned: “The principles of the Akshar-Purushottam Darshan are found in the Gita, Vedas, and Upanishads. Bhagwan Swaminarayan explained this philosophy in the Vachanamrut.”
Prof. G.S.R. Krishnamurthy, Vice-Chancellor, National Sanskrit University, Tirupati stated: “The Akshar-Purushottam Darshan is moving with society. Now, it has become integrated with society. If we embrace it, India will prosper, and the importance of our modern Indian knowledge tradition will be enhanced. The Akshar-Purushottam Darshan embodies equality, and its very goal is to synthesize philosophy with society. It is for these reasons that we all [scholars] have been attracted to it.”
Prof. Sukant Kumar Senapati, Vice-Chancellor, Shree Somnath Sanskrit University, Gujarat mentioned: “An assembly like this has never been held anywhere in India. This Bhashya Mahotsav is an inspiration for the next generation. It has all happened due to the inspiration of Mahant Swami Ji.”
Prof. Murli Manohar Pathakji, Vice-Chancellor, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University, Delhi stated: “In this dreadful Kaliyuga, such a blissful commentary has been composed, and for this, Swami Bhadreshdasji is worthy of our reverence. In this Akshar-Purushottam Darshan, Bhadreshdasji has considered the Vachanamrut to be a foundational text (Prasthana), along with the Gita, the Upanishads, and the Brahmasutras. It is evident that these four texts are the foundational pillars of the Akshar-Purushottam Darshan.”
