Congressman Thomas Suozzi (NY-3) was welcomed to the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in New York, NY, on March 20, 2022. During his visit, Rep. Suozzi presented BAPS with an American flag, which was previously flown at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., in honor of His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj's centennial birthday celebrations.
Rep. Suozzi also attended an assembly during which BAPS volunteers who recently returned from a humanitarian mission to the Poland-Ukraine border to aid incoming Ukrainian refugees shared their experiences. Following the assembly, Rep. Suozzi met with volunteers and other members of the BAPS community.
