BAPS Hindu Mandir Hosts ‘A Symphony of Harmony’

The BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi hosted a unique event, A Symphony of Harmony, honoring People of Determination.

Under the starlit sky by the Ganga ghat, 15-year-old autistic Emirati pianist Ahmed Al Hashemi, an internationally recognized artist and recipient of the UNESCO Rising Talent Honorary Certificate and the Mother Teresa Memorial Award, captivated the audience with his inspiring performance.

A Symphony of Harmony, brought together over 500 guests, including UAE leaders, UAE nationals, community leaders and People of Determination, to celebrate People of Determination, courage, and harmony.

Ahmed opened the recital with his first set, Notes of Silence and Faith, featuring his original compositions and classical pieces by Ludwig van Beethoven.

Once challenged in verbal expression, Ahmed discovered his voice through music, a universal language that bridges differences and inspires all.

Ahmed performed with the loving presence of his family in the audience, their support guiding and inspiring him.

Ahmed shared, ‘I was so moved by the temple’s peace and love that I knew I wanted to perform here. My first big solo in the UAE in such a meaningful place is a dream come true.’

As Ahmed’s first set concludes, he asks the audience to take a few minutes to prepare for his next performance.

As the audience pauses to reflect, Swami Brahmaviharidas, the visionary behind the event, is invited to share his thoughts about the evening.

Swami Brahmaviharidas opened by reflecting on the profound power of music and melody, showing how a simply melody can transform not only the world around us but also the world within.

The audience was enlightened as Swami Brahmaviharidas highlighted that every challenge is an opportunity to grow, inspiring us to face life with courage, compassion, and determination to build a harmonious world.

Swami Brahmaviharidas concluded by expressing gratitude to the UAE leadership, for their support not only for the Mandir but also in empowering People of Determination across the nation and helping each of them shine.

Moved by the evening, Ahmed shared his gratitude, saying his music carries a message of love, peace, and harmony, uniting hearts beyond language and differences. With Tolerance Day approaching, he celebrated the UAE’s spirit of inclusivity and thanked the Mandir and everyone for this special evening.

At the end of the recital, all the guests rose to give Ahmed a standing ovation, not just for his gifted performance, but for his courage, determination, and inspiring spirit.

Ahmed Al Hashemi thanked Swami Brahmaviharidas for his love, friendship, and prayers.

To honor Ahmed’s determination and the inspiration he brings to many, Swami Brahmaviharidas presented him with a special memento, a model of the Mandir surrounded by musical notes.

BAPS volunteer Ms. Shaily Desai honored Ahmed’s mother Eiman Alaleeli, celebrating the dedication and love that shaped his remarkable journey.

Swami Brahmaviharidas also honored distinguished members of the UAE leadership and community for their unwavering support: Brigadier Hamed of Joint Taskforce Abu Dhabi; H.E. Mubarak Al Ameri and H.E. Mohamed Al Balooshi, representing H.E. Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Chairman of the Department of Community Development; Mr. Zubin Karkaria, CEO of VFS Global; and Dr. Vibu Bose, Executive Director of Ahalia Medical Group.
