The ‘Festival of Culture’, a 13-day celebration in September marking the opening of BAPS Swaminarayan Hindu Mandir, Paris – the first traditional Hindu temple in France – was launched globally in satsang assemblies around the world during the months of March and April.
The historic global event, to be blessed by His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj, will take place from Wednesday 2 September to Monday 14 September 2026, in the Parisian district of Bussy-Saint-Georges.
The launch announcement incorporated various video presentations, including a personal message from Yogvivekdas Swami, head swami for BAPS in the UK and across Europe, as well as a creative insight into the historical significance of the new mandir, and highlights of what to expect in the upcoming festival. Devotees and well-wishers from around the world have thus been warmly invited to convene in Paris, one of the world’s most beautiful cities, for a deeply spiritual and culturally uplifting experience.
The ‘Festival of Culture’, celebrating the opening of the new mandir, will comprise a series of inspiring, joyous, and vibrant cultural events, including a
Jal Yatra (boat procession along the River Seine), Nagar Yatra through Paris, Palkhi Yatra through Bussy-Saint-Georges, daily
Vedic Mahayagna, murti-pratishtha ceremony and dedication assembly, women’s convention, musical tribute (kirtan aradhana), Mahant Swami Maharaj’s janma jayanti celebrations (by date), and various other programmes.
Registration for the Festival is mandatory to help ensure a smooth experience for all participants.
