More than 2,000 women devotees at BAPS centers throughout Afica attended the two-day Mahila Parayans organized during the holy month of Shravan by the BAPS Women’s Wing in Africa. The parayans were held in Kenya – Kisumu, Eldoret, Mombasa, Thika, Kakamega, Bungoma, Kericho, Ruiru, Kajiado, Athi River; Tanzania – Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, Arusha, Tanga; Uganda – Kampala, Jinja, Lira/Soroti, Mbale; Southern Africa – Johannesburg, Lenasia, Mayfair, Benoni, Laudium, Central Africa – Lusaka, Lilongwe, Limbe and Rwanda – Kigali.
The parayans focused on Mahant Swami Maharaj’s message that the form of God we have attained is the greatest blessing of life, and this attainment must be transformed into personal experience. The discourses revolved around two themes. First day: Mune pragat malya Purushottam aj… and second day: Bhagya Jagya re aj…
Through kirtans, multimedia presentations, and inspiring talks, the women devotees at each center reflected on the greatness of this divine gift. The lives of great women devotees were also highlighted: Monghiba of Gondal and Jhamkuba of Mewar, showcasing their steadfast devotion and faith in Bhagwan Swaminarayan, and serving as a powerful reminder to cultivate the same conviction and love in daily life. In some centers, these stories were presented as plays.
A pothiyatra (procession of shastras) was also organized at all centers.
