His Excellency Khaltmaagiin Battulga, the President of Mongolia, visited Swaminarayan Akshardham in New Delhi on Thursday, 19 September 2019.
On behalf of His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj, the Spiritual Head of Swaminarayan Akshardham and the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, Dharmavatsal Swami traditionally welcomed President Battulga with a garland of flowers and tying the kalava (sacred thread) on his wrist. The President was also accompanied by a delegation.
President Battulga offered his respects at the inner sanctum (garbhagruh) of Swaminarayan Akshardham Mandir and admired the Mandir’s intricate art and beautiful architecture. He was also introduced to the life, work and message of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and the spirituality of the Sanstha.
President Battulga and members of the Mongolian delegation offered their prayers for world peace, harmony and for Mongolia and the people of Mongolia by offering abhishek, the ceremonial pouring of sanctified water on the sacred image of Shri Neelkanth Varni Maharaj (Bhagwan Swaminarayan).
The President and the delegation also experienced the Cultural Boat Ride (Sanskruti Darshan) and the Sahaj Anand Water Show.
Commenting of his experience at Swaminarayan Akshardham, President Battulga wrote, “I am pleased to get acquainted with the wonderful Akshardham, which symbolized the ancient, rich, cultural and spiritual heritage of the Indian people. Taking this moment I extend to the volunteers, institution and individuals, those (who) built and run this magnificent complex, my best wishes for happiness.”
