Before Pramukh Swami Maharaj passed away to Akshardham on 13 August 2016, he had informed of his wish that his final rites be performed in Sarangpur at the intersection between the main mandir and the Yagnapurush Smruti Mandir, such that he forever remains under the divine gaze of ishtadev Bhagwan Swaminarayan and guru Shastriji Maharaj.
On this spot, a marble memorial mandir is to be built in Pramukh Swami Maharj’s honor. In the presence of hundreds of swamis and thousands of devotees from India and abroad, Param Pujya Mahant Swami Maharaj performed the Vedic Shilanyas Ceremony for this Pramukh Swami Maharaj Smruti Mandir.
Thereafter, Mahant Swami Maharaj blessed the assembly, praising the outstanding virtues and monumental work of Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
