Jalandhar is a city in the Doaba region of the northwestern Indian state of Punjab. Brahmaswarup Yogiji Maharaj blessed Shri Firoz Chand Jain, a youth from Punjab, in Tororo(Uganda) during his vicharan there in 1959-60. Satsang in Jalandhar city began in 1968 when Brahmaswarup Yogiji Maharaj had met Subhashji Aggrawal and initiated him into satang. In 1970 Brahmaswarup Pramukh Swami Maharaj had visited Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar and other places. Pragat Brahmaswarup Mahant Swami Maharaj has also previously visited this place six times.

On 24 December 2013, Pujya Ishwarcharan Swami performed the Shilanyas Vidhi for the mandir. From this day, the devotees began to hold the weekly Sunday assembly. In a period of three years, with the blessings and guidance of Brahmaswarup Pramukh Swami Maharaj, the mandir construction was completed by the sincere dedicated efforts of devotees and volunteers.

The mandir inauguration celebrations were held in the presence of Pragat Brahmaswarup Mahant Swami Maharaj.

On 26 February a joyous nagar yatra (procession) through the streets of Jalandhar was held in which the murtis to be consecrated in the new mandir were paraded in colorful, decorated floats to sanctify the city. Hundreds of saints, devotees and well-wishers participated in the procession.

In the evening felicitation assembly all those who had helped to make the mandir were honored and blessed by Param Pujya Mahant Swami Maharaj.

On the morning of 27 February, the mandir prasad-pravesh rituals were performed by Param Pujya Mahant Swami Maharaj.

On the morning of 28 February, around 1,700 devotees participated in the Vedic Vishwa Shanti Mahayaag (Yagna for World Peace). Many other devotees and well-wishers were also present to offer prayers for peace in the lives of those gathered, the community at large and the world.

In the evening, devotees and well-wishers were thrilled by the melodious kirtan aradhana (singing of devotional hymns) by BAPS swamis.

On the morning of 1 March, in the presence of over 2,000 devotees and well-wishers, His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj performed the Vedic murti-pratishtha rituals of the murtis in the new BAPS mandir and officially opened its doors to the community. Previously, on 18 July 2016, in Sarangpur, Pramukh Swami Maharaj had performed the Vedic murti-pratishtha rituals of these murtis.
