Approximately 400 dignitaries, devotees and well-wishers gathered to pay tribute to the extra-ordinary life and works of Param Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
The program commenced with dhun, kirtan and prayers. Thereafter, there were audio-visual presentations and speeches by dignitaries and guests highlighting the special attributes of Param Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
ANC Member of Parliament Mr Omie Singh delivered a moving tribute. The sentiments of Deputy Mayor (Representing the Mayor) of the e-Thekwini Municipality, Fawzia Peer, were delivered by Shri Ketanbhai Patel.
The Head of Chancery, representing Shri Santosh Rawat, the Consulate General of India in Durban, recalled the pious life of Swamishri.
Mr A.V. Mohammed, Chairman of the Grey Street Mosque, referred to Param Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj as “the height of Divinity”.
Representatives from local community organizations, including Shri Prakashbhai Dullabh of Shri Saptah Mandir; Shri Chimanbhai Patel of the Gujarati Sanskruti Kendra; and Dr. Mawalall Chatrooghoon of the Divine Life Society of South Africa, also emotionally recalled their interactions with Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
The highlight of the program was the spiritually charged address by Pujya Viveksagar Swami, who focused on Swamishri’s role in the spread of Satsang throughout the world.
Following the samuh arti, the program concluded with everyone offering mantra pushpanjali at the feet of Param Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s murti.
