The New South Wales state government celebrated Diwali at Parliament House on 5 November 2014. The event was hosted by Multicultural NSW, the state agency responsible for community relations and affairs. Over 300 guests attended the function.

Among the guests present were the NSW Premier Hon. Mike Baird MP, The Leader of the Opposition Mr. John Robertson MP, Minister for Citizenship the Hon. Victor Dominello, the Indian Consul General Shri Sunjay Sudhir, MP for Parramatta Dr Geoff Lee and Chair of Multicultural NSW Dr. Hari Harinath.

The highlight of the celebration was the Annakut display by BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Rosehill. The MC for the event Kumud Merani explained the significance of the Annakut to the audience and the fact that it is celebrated at BAPS Mandirs globally every year. BAPS karyakars also explained the significance of the Annakut to all. The Premier, Mr Baird, was impressed at the Annakut display.

Minister Dominello acknowledged the contribution of the Indian community in all facets of the state's development. MP Dr Lee thanked BAPS for putting up a stellar Annakut display, having himself visited the mandir earlier where he did darshan of the Annakut on display at the mandir.
