Over 130 Karyakars from across the Asia Pacific region gathered in Auckland, New Zealand for the second Asia-Pacific Karyakar Convention at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir from Friday 23 April to Sunday 25 April 2010. The delegates came from Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne and Adelaide to participate in this Convention which was aimed at improving the skills of Bal-Balika, Kishore-Kishori and Yuvak-Yuvati Karyakars.

The theme of this Convention was “Samarpan – Now and Forever” which covered three main aspects: Striking a Balance, Our Seva and Live and Serve through BAPS.

Sadhus from India and North America conducted workshops, seminars, lectures, question/answer sessions, group discussions and presentations on various topics such as time management, presentation skills, regional reporting, ‘rajipa no vichar’, pulling together, be a friend and obstacles in seva.

The karyakars had an opportunity to meet each other and understand the challenges that are faced in teaching satsang values to youngsters all over region. Everyone exchanged ideas and formed collective regional goals for the next three years.

The Convention proved to be an inspiring moment for the Karyakars who were new to their seva. Delegates also gained a better understanding of their seva. All the karyakars took niyams to better their personal satsang and serve the cause of BAPS with more enthusiasm. They also resolved to become better karyakars in order to please guru Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
