Thursday 29 July 99, The Secretary for Trade and Industries, Rt. Hon. Stephen Byers, visited Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Neasden. He was welcomed by sadhus and trustees of the mandir in the traditional Indian style. Mr. Byers was garlanded and an anspicion gread was thread round his wrist. During his visit of the mandir and exhibition - "Understanding Hinduism" - he marvelled at the beautiful carvings and traditional architecture. He appreciated the Hindu tradition of family values, religion and service to society
