The famine of Gujarat continued for the second year running. The year was worst than the previous. The organization had to work more. Consignments of clothes, collected from all over the world, were distributed among the poor in Gujarat and Maharashtra. To alleviate the pains of starvation, almshouses and buttermilk distribution centres along with cattle rearing centres were built. Funds and manual aid were also given to the main famine fighting body.
