To fight the famine that struck Gujarat in 1974, youth volunteers of the organization raised funds by performing cultural programmes throughout Gujarat and Maharashtra. The funds were used to provide food and clothing for the victims and fodder for their cattle. A number of almshouses were also opened in selected areas that distributed food grains and dairy products free of cost.
