બ્રહ્મસ્વરૂપ પ્રમુખસ્વામી મહારાજની પ્રેરક પ્રસંગ-સ્મૃતિઓ

એક મુમુક્ષુ દર્શને આવ્યા. પરંપરાગત રીતે સ્વામિનારાયણીય સત્સંગમાં જ ઊછર્યા હોવા છતાં તેઓ કંઠી પહેરતા ન હતા. સ્વામીશ્રીએ પૂછ્યું : ‘કંઠી છે ?’
તેઓ કહે : ‘ફાવતી નથી. મારા શરીર ઉપર હું એક પણ અલંકાર પહેરતો નથી.’
સ્વામીશ્રી કહે : ‘આ પેન્ટ, આ શર્ટ અને આ શર્ટમાં નાખેલી પેન અને ચશ્માં એ બધું ફાવે છે ?’
‘હા.’
સ્વામીશ્રી કહે : ‘તો આ તો ભગવાનની કંઠી છે. એ કેમ ન ફાવે ? શ્રદ્ધા રાખજો અને કાઢી ન નાખતા.’ એમ કહીને સ્વામીશ્રીએ કંઠી પહેરાવી.

The mind is like a child
“Moreover, the mind is like a child. If a child attempts to grasp a snake, or touch a flame or perhaps hold an unsheathed sword, it becomes upset when it is not allowed to do so; and even if it is allowed to do so, it will hurt itself. Similarly, if the mind is not allowed to indulge in the vishays, it becomes upset; and if it is allowed to indulge in them, it turns away from God, and thus becomes extremely miserable…”
