On 31 May 2013, World No-Tobacco Day, more than 800 BAPS children from throughout Mumbai, in groups, braved the summer heat and humidity to participate in a 27.3 km Anti-Addiction Prayer March from the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Dadar to Borivali.

Over 650 yuvak and yuvati mandal sanchalaks participated in two Yuvak Mandal shibirs, held simultaneously in Bochasan and Sankari on 25 and 26 May 2013.

Organized by the Satsang Activities Central Office in Ahmedabad, two five-day Yuva Jnansatras provided spiritual stimulation to over 2,000 youths from throughout Gujarat and Mumbai.

The new shikharbaddh BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir is located on a 15-acre plot by the River Daman Ganga in Selvas, the principal city of Dadranagar Haveli. The three-day celebrations were held from 10 to 13 May 2013.

Grand celebrations were held in Mahesana to commemorate the consecration of the murtis of Shri Nilkanth Varni – the teenage-yogi form of Bhagwan Swaminarayan – and the Guru Parampara – Brahmaswarup Bhagatji Maharaj, Brahmaswarup Shastriji Maharaj, Brahmaswarup Yogiji Maharaj and Pragat Brahmaswarup Pramukh Swami Maharaj.

In a grand diksha mahotsav held at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Shahibaug in the presence of guruhari Pramukh Swami Maharaj, 73 educated youths embraced the path of renunciation. In all, 28 youths were initiated as parshads, while 45 were initiated as sadhus. Pramukh Swami Maharaj personally blessed each youth individually with a diksha mantra.

The women's wing at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Ahmedabad, conducted a training workshop on the topic 'Public speaking - An art and a science' on 31st Mar, 2013.

Devotees from throughout the world came to the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Shahibaug, Ahmedabad, to enjoy the colorful annual Hindu festivals of Holi and Pushpadolotsav in the presence of His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj. These were celebrated with flowers and flower petals this year.

In the fourth year of its participation in Earth Hour, Swaminarayan Akshardham continues to support environmental projects that promote the awareness and education of a cleaner and safer planet. Swaminarayan Akshardham supported the cause of environmental conservation by switching off its lights for an hour on Earth Day.

Around 80 scholars from Gujarat, South India and New Delhi attended the‘National Seminar on Shri Sahajanand Swami and the Swaminarayan Sampradaya:Historical, Social and Cultural Perspectives’ from 1 to 3 March 2013.
