A two-day celebration commemorated the inauguration of the new BAPS Mandir in Akola, Maharashtra.
On the morning of 10 March, 450 couples participated in the Shri Swaminarayan Vishwashanti Mahayagna. In the afternoon, a splendid nagaryatrawas held on the main roads of the city, honoring the murtis on various artistic chariots. Afterthe procession, a maha-artiwas performed in front of the mandir.
On the morning of 11 March, the murti-pratishtha mahapuja was performed. Then, Pujya Bhaktipriya Swami (Kothari Swami) performed the installation ceremony of the murtis. Previously, in Surat on 19 January 2024 and in Ahmedabad on 8 March 2024, Mahant Swami Maharaj had performed the Vedic murti-pratishtha rituals of the murtis.
Among the guests present were Acharya Swami Shri 1008 Jitendranath Maharajji, the Abbot of Devanath Ashram Anjangaon Surji, leading politicians of the city, and others.
The celebrations concluded in the evening with a program of devotional bhajans.
