Part 12 of the detailed biography of Brahmaswarup Pramukh Swami Maharaj records the remarkable final phase of Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s active leadership from 2011 to 2014.
Although advancing into his tenth decade and increasingly challenged by frail health, his unwavering resolve to serve God and humanity never diminished. Every day continued to be filled with darshan, spiritual guidance, assemblies, rituals and the constant care of devotees, reflecting his lifelong commitment to inspiring others.
As his physical travel became more limited, Swamishri demonstrated that true leadership transcends physical presence. From wherever he resided, he personally performed sacred rituals for new mandirs around the world while entrusting on-site ceremonies to Mahant Swami and other senior swamis. Through this seamless continuity, he continued to guide the worldwide growth of BAPS with the same vision, precision and spiritual authority.
This volume recounts Swamishri performing the murti-pratishtha of the BAPS shikharbaddha mandirs in Godhra and Bodeli; the pratishtha rituals of the murtis that were to be consecrated in the shikharbaddha mandirs in Nagpur, Silvassa, Kolkata, Himmatnagar, Jamnagar, Mahuva, and Dhari; and the Shila Pujan ceremonies for Nasik, Pune and Navsari mandirs, as well as for Swaminarayan Akshardham in Robbinsville.
It also narrates the grand Fuldol celebrations, the outstanding Yuva Adhiveshan, the memorable 60th anniversary celebrations of BAPS Youth Activities, and the historic visit of India’s former President, Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, to meet Swamishri. During these years, Swamishri also inspired the inauguration of the BAPS Yogiji Maharaj Hospital in Ahmedabad and the BAPS Shastriji Maharaj Hospital in Vadodara.
Despite undergoing pacemaker surgery in 2012 and facing increasing physical limitations thereafter, Swamishri’s compassion, spiritual insight and concern for devotees remained unchanged. His daily darshan, guidance and blessings continued to uplift thousands. During this period, he also entrusted Pujya Mahant Swami the responsibility of responding to the devotees’ correspondence, marking a significant step in the continued spiritual leadership of the BAPS Sanstha.
The volume also describes Swamishri’s extraordinary journey to Robbinsville, New Jersey, in 2014. Despite his fragile health, he traveled to consecrate the new shikharbaddha mandir and perform the Bhumi Pujan for what would become one of the world’s most magnificent Hindu mandirs – Swaminarayan Akshardham, Robbinsville. This historic visit stands as a powerful testament to his determination, devotion and lifelong mission to spread spirituality and preserve the timeless values of Sanatan Dharma.
