Shri Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of India, visited BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Toronto, Canada on May 26, 2026. He currently serves as India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry. He was accompanied by Shri Dinesh Patnaik, High Commissioner of India to Canada, Shri Mahaveer Singhvi, Consul General of India in Toronto, and other delegates.
Shri Piyush Goyal was traditionally welcomed by Pujya Gunsagardas Swami, Head Swami of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Toronto, while the accompanying guests were warmly received by BAPS volunteers and community leaders. The delegation was then guided on a tour of the Mandir, where they experienced its intricate craftsmanship, traditional Hindu architecture, and serene spiritual ambiance.
During the visit, the delegation participated in the sacred Abhishek ritual, offering prayers before the murti of Shri Nilkanth Varni, and visited the various sanctums within the Mandir. Shri Piyush Goyal also interacted with community leaders, volunteers, and devotees, appreciating their spirit of service, dedication, and commitment toward preserving cultural and spiritual values.
Reflecting on his visit, Shri Piyush Goyal remarked, “The Mandir stands as a symbol of spirituality, harmony, service, and shared values and reflects the deep cultural and people-to-people ties that continue to strengthen the India-Canada relationship.” He also appreciated the Mandir’s role in bringing together the Indo-Canadian community and preserving Indian culture and heritage in Canada.
