Following the successful ‘Timeless Hindu Wisdom’ seminars held in October 2024 – ‘From Ayodhya to Abu Dhabi: A Journey of Global Harmony’ – and March 2025 – ‘Matru-Devo Bhava: Reverence and Responsibility for Mothers in Hinduism’ – more than 350 guests enjoyed an inspiring evening at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Wellingborough on Saturday 21 February 2026. The third seminar in the series was titled ‘Mindfulness Amid Mayhem’, and explored how the timeless teachings of the Shrimad Bhagawatam and Bhagwan Swaminarayan’s Vachanamrut can help navigate the challenges of today’s fast-paced world with clarity, purpose, and resilience.
As guests arrived, they were invited to participate in activities that encouraged each individual to reflect on what they wished to cultivate in their lives – a fitting prelude to an evening centred on inner awareness and mindfulness.
The seminar formally commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the sacred lamp, accompanied by the Shanti Path – the universal Vedic peace prayer invoking peace in the world, in communities, in families, and within the individual.
Where the previous seminars had journeyed through sacred geographies – from Ayodhya to Abu Dhabi, and through the rich tradition of honouring mothers – this third edition turned inward. The keynote address was delivered by Paramtattvadas Swami, a learned swami of His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj.
In his presentation, Paramtattvadas Swami drew upon sacred narratives from the Shrimad Bhagawat Puran and various teachings of Bhagwan Swaminarayan, Gunatitanand Swami, Pramukh Swami Maharaj and Mahant Swami Maharaj to provide a clear, succinct framework for finding balance and poise amid the chaos and relentless pace of modern life. He guided the audience towards antar-drashti (insight – of the soul), ant-drashti (foresight – of the world), and anant-drashti (surroundsight – of God).
The proceedings concluded with the arti followed by an authentic Indian vegetarian meal.
Milan Pancholi, a devoted volunteer currently studying medicine in Prague, reflected, “As a medical student, I am constantly learning how stress and mental well-being affect our physical health, but tonight reminded me that ancient Hindu wisdom had already mapped this connection thousands of years ago. Paramtattvadas Swami’s insights from the Vachanamrut were both deeply grounding and practically relevant. I came away with a renewed sense of purpose and a clearer sense of how to manage the pressures of life abroad.”
Ved Bankley, a young apprentice at a leading financial consultancy, added, “Working in tech, the pace never really lets up – and it is easy to lose sight of what truly matters. This seminar gave me a completely fresh perspective. The idea that we can train our minds rather than be controlled by them is so simple, yet so powerful. I will be carrying that teaching with me into the working week.”
