Representatives from 33 Dharmik Indian communities attended the Unity Forum 2025 organized by BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, Tanzania, to celebrate cultural and spiritual harmony. Uniting under the theme ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – The World Is One Family’, the event was a powerful reminder of the shared heritage and values that bind together these communities living abroad, and emphasized the importance of unity in preserving and celebrating Indic traditions globally.
The evening commenced with a spiritually uplifting performance by young children reciting prayers. Thereafter, revered swamis and respected community members, Kumarbhai Pujara, Malharbhai Dave, and Hirenbhai Chandarana, lit the ceremonial lamp.
Then, Tyagvatsal Swami spoke eloquently on the joy and responsibility of living one’s culture even when far from its geographical roots. He stressed that unity is the foundation of collective success and inner peace, highlighting the timeless wisdom of Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
In his address, P. Priyavrat Swami reflected on the visible unity of the Hindu community in Tanzania. He noted with joy how nearly all Hindu temples in Dar es Salaam are situated in close proximity and how devotees of various communities come together to celebrate each other’s festivals with enthusiasm and mutual support. He emphasized that such unity is not only a source of strength today, but also a precious value that must be passed on to future generations for the continued growth and harmony of the community.
Malharbhai Dave, President of the Hindu Council of Tanzania, addressed the gathering with gratitude, expressing appreciation for the initiative taken by BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha to bring together so many communities to strengthen spiritual and cultural bonds across all Indic traditions. Kumarbhai Pujara, Chairman of BAPS, Dar es Salaam, delivered a heartfelt Vote of Thanks to all the communities for their wholehearted support during the Dar es Salaam Mandir Mahotsav held in December 2024.
