The State of Tennessee formally recognized the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha and Pujya Brahmaviharidas Swami through Senate Joint Resolution No. 442. The resolution honored BAPS’s global spiritual leadership and humanitarian impact, and recognized Pujya Brahmaviharidas Swami for spearheading the creation of the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi—one of the most pivotal landmarks for establishing global peace in modern history. He was also acknowledged for coordinating vast volunteer relief during the 2001 Bhuj earthquake, leading humanitarian support throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and establishing relief camps that served war refugees during the Ukraine-Russia conflict—all carried out under the guidance and blessings of His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj and His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj, whose lifelong messages of devotion, service, and harmony continue to guide Pujya Brahmaviharidas Swami’s efforts.
Reflecting the deep respect held for him across the state, Governor Bill Lee extended a warm welcome through his Senior Advisor, John DeBerry, and House Representative Mark Sparks, who traveled to Atlanta to personally honor Pujya Brahmaviharidas Swami during a large spiritual assembly of over 2,000 people titled “In Conversation”, which also included government dignitaries from across the state of Georgia.
This recognition highlights the strong alignment between Tennessee's core values and BAPS’s guiding principles of selfless service, unity, and uplifting all individuals. This esteemed acknowledgment not only strengthens the relationship between BAPS and the State of Tennessee but also underscores their mutual commitment to building a better world through shared respect and collaborative spirit.
