Devotees from across Canada gathered at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Toronto on weekend of August 9 and 10, 2025, to welcome Sadguru Pujya Bhaktipriya Swami (Kothari Swami) upon his arrival in North America.

The assembly began with a vibrant cultural dance performed by youths, expressing devotion and joy while setting a celebratory tone for the occasion. The gathering also coincided with the celebration of Rakshabandhan, during which devotees reflected on the spiritual significance of protection, unity, and the bond between a guru and a disciple.

Two upcoming historic occasions: the Mandir Mahotsav (Inauguration) of the new BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Belleville, Ontario, and the Shilanyas Mahotsav (Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony) for the new BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Ottawa, Canada’s capital city were also formally launched in the presence of Pujya Kothari Swami. These new mandirs will serve not only as places of spiritual enrichment and devotion, but also as centres for community service, cultural preservation, and youth development. Through regular assemblies, children and youth activities, and community initiatives, they will provide a welcoming space for individuals and families while contributing to the betterment of the wider Canadian society.

As the program came to a close, the atmosphere was filled with devotion and gratitude. The tying of rakhis symbolized the sacred bond of faith and unity, while the blessings imparted by Pujya Kothari Swami inspired all to strengthen their spiritual resolve. Devotees departed with renewed enthusiasm, cherishing the opportunity to celebrate Rakshabandhan in his presence.
