Over 22-24 August and 24-26 August 2025, more than 2,300 participants from Sanyukta Mandal across the UK and parts of Europe gathered at Warwick Conference Park for an inspiring and transformative shibir titled “Parasmani: Praptini Pratiti” – Conviction in Our Supreme Attainment.
The shibir, graced by the presence of senior and learned swamis from India and the UK, was a deep dive into realising the unparalleled spiritual blessing of having attained Bhagwan Swaminarayan and the Gunatit Satpurush.
The central theme, ‘Parasmani,’ used the ancient metaphor of a divine touchstone that turns iron into gold. Atmatruptdas Swami, in his enlightening discourses and interactive presentations, explained that our prapti – Bhagwan Swaminarayan and the manifest Satpurush – is this very parasmani, which has the power to transform the ‘iron’ jiva into the ‘golden’ brahmarup state.
The entire shibir was structured to guide participants on a journey from vichār (understanding) to vishwās (faith), and priti (love), culminating in pratiti (unwavering conviction).
Dharmasetudas Swami and other learned swamis elaborated on the nature of the jiva, the obscuring influence of māyā, and the ingrained swabhāvs that act as ‘rust’ on the soul.
Through innovative sessions deploying the use of a smartboard to help participants structure their thoughts and grasp complex topics, as well as compelling panel discussions and podcast-style conversations, the swamis presented many profound spiritual concepts in a uniquely engaging and relatable manner. The sessions emphasised that while our intellect and senses have limitations, unwavering faith in the Satpurush is the key that unlocks his transformative grace.
The shibir was not just a spiritual retreat for the adults. In parallel, a vibrant and meticulously organised set-up facilitated the spiritual nurturing of the next generation. Over 300 children participated in dedicated Satsang Diksha playgroup camps, learning core Satsang principles through interactive stories, games, and activities. Furthermore, professionally managed crèche facilities ensured that even the youngest children were lovingly cared for, allowing parents to immerse themselves fully in the shibir sessions. This comprehensive arrangement truly made it a family event, reinforcing the legacy of Satsang for all ages.
Each shibir culminated with a powerful call to action from Atmatruptdas Swami, inspiring all attendees to commit to a daily 15-minute practice of ‘praptino vichār’ – contemplating upon the greatness of our spiritual attainment.
Participants departed with a renewed sense of purpose, a deeper understanding of their invaluable prapti, and a clear roadmap for achieving spiritual transformation and ultimate liberation through the grace of their Guru, Mahant Swami Maharaj.
