BAPS hosted more than 55 leaders from over 35 faith-based and community organizations across the San Francisco Bay Area at the Unity Forum organized by BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, San Jose, CA, on November 15, 2025, celebrating cultural and spiritual harmony rooted in the Hindu ideal of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—“the entire world is one family.” The Unity Forum was inspired by His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj’s message: “In the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, let’s reach out to extend the circle of global harmony.”
The program began with a prayer and a focused group discussion where leaders explored key themes related to strengthening the next generation. First, leaders reflected on the qualities of an ideal Dhārmik youth, including confidence in one’s Hindu identity, commitment to personal sadhana, and grounding in authentic Hindu knowledge. Second, they discussed challenges at home and in society, such as widespread misinformation about Hinduism, limited access to authentic explanations of time-tested traditions, and the growing influence of social media and academic narratives that often conflict with Dhārmik values. Third, they reaffirmed a collective commitment to strengthen Dhārmik sanskars in youth by creating relatable engagement, offering mentoring and satsang opportunities, presenting authentic Hindu history in youth-friendly formats, fostering cross-generational connections, and supporting youth with empathy and openness.
Pujya Chaitanyamurti Swami addressed these themes directly in his keynote remarks. Drawing from his extensive interactions with Hindu and community leaders across North America, he spoke about the central role of sanskars in helping youth develop clarity, confidence, and a strong sense of identity. He highlighted how meaningful mentorship, consistent role modeling at home, and relatable engagement in mandirs can transform these challenges into opportunities for deeper connection and service.
Pujya Harinivasdas Swami offered a heartfelt vote of thanks and shared life lessons from His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj and His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj on strengthening unity within families, organizations, and the broader community.
Leaders expressed gratitude for the opportunity to learn, share, and receive guidance from the Pujya Swamis, reaffirming their commitment to building greater unity and supporting the next generation of Hindu youth.
