Swamis and devotees from BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Harrisburg, PA participated in the 50th Anniversary Celebration of Hindu American Religious Institute (HARI Mandir) on Sunday, July 12, 2025. The Hindu American Religious Institute, also known as HARI Mandir, is a cornerstone of the Hindu community in Central Pennsylvania.
Pujya Jnanpurushdas Swami and Pujya Dharmasevadas Swami, accompanied by a group of BAPS devotees, joined the celebrations to offer prayers and share thoughts rooted in the core principles of Sanatan Hindu Dharma—truth (satya), compassion (daya), non-violence (ahimsa), self-restraint (brahmacharya), and non-stealing (asteya).
Their messages reflected the universal values exemplified by His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj, such as “In the joy of others lies our own,” and emphasized the harmony between spirituality and religious practice. They also encouraged love, peace, and coexistence—principles that continue to be nurtured through the guidance and blessings of His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj. The reflections were received with warmth and appreciation by the congregation, many of whom expressed heartfelt gratitude for the inspiration and sense of unity the messages fostered.
The BAPS delegation also recognized and commended the trustees, volunteers, and devotees of HARI Mandir for their unwavering commitment to preserving and promoting Hindu dharma in America. They noted that the roots of the Hindu community in Harrisburg date back to the 1950s, culminating in the founding of the temple in 1975. As HARI Mandir marks this significant milestone, it continues to serve as a spiritual and cultural anchor for Hindus in the region, bridging generations and guiding future ones with values that transcend time and borders.
The Golden Jubilee Celebrations concluded with heartfelt prayers for peace, spiritual growth, and well-being for all.
