More than 90 people – from toddlers through to senior citizens – came together to participate in the BAPS Annual Charity Walk on Saturday 19 July at St. Catherine’s Park, Lucan.
The participants walked, in a fun-filled family and community event that raised vital funds for various good causes.
The funds raised during the walk will support BAPS’s multifarious educational, community, and spiritual activities in Dublin, Ireland, which serves children, youths, families, and the elderly.
The 2025 Challenge will also support BAPS Ireland’s local charity partner, The Marie Keating Foundation, an organization dedicated to the fight against cancer and providing crucial support to those affected. Lylah O'Beirne, a representative of the Foundation, spoke on the day, highlighting their vital work in education, early detection, and emotional support for those affected by cancer.
Volunteers from BAPS Dublin, Ireland explained the purpose of the walk, explained the message of Pramukh Swami Maharaj - In the Joy of Others, followed by the chanting of the Vedic Shanti Path and Deep Pragatya.
The enjoyable, healthy day out with friends and family made a real, lasting impact by promoting active lifestyles and supporting the work of local charities and good causes.
It was indeed very encouraging to see so many children as well as senior members of the community joining in, which truly shows what people can accomplish when they work together; and many members of the community appreciated these efforts by the BAPS Ireland team and have also committed to continue to support such initiatives by the BAPS Ireland Team.
