BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Preston marked its tenth anniversary since the opening of the new mandir, on 8 November 2025. Devotees gathered to reflect on a journey shaped by faith, perseverance, humility, and unity.
The celebrations brought together devotees of all ages along with invited guests and senior swamis from BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, London. Their presence added deep spiritual significance to the occasion, which celebrated not only a decade of the Mandir’s existence, but also the enduring values that continue to sustain it.
In the lead-up to the celebrations, devotees deepened their spiritual engagement through sustained devotional efforts. Over the course of the year, they collectively completed more than 108,000 pradakshinas and regularly participated in monthly mahapujas, reflecting a shared commitment to spiritual growth and devotion.
During his address in the main assembly, Yogvivekdas Swami reflected on humility and shared responsibility, drawing upon the incident where Shri Krishna Bhagwan lifted Mount Govardhan to protect the local community, while the villagers stand together beneath it in support, highlighting the importance of collective effort and service rather than personal credit.
In the same spirit, the Mandir has been built and sustained through the dedication of its volunteers, whose time, skills and generosity have helped create a place of worship, learning and community service that benefits both worshippers and the wider community.
Over the past decade, the Mandir has grown into a vibrant spiritual and community hub in the heart of Preston. Alongside daily worship and spiritual activities, it has supported the wider community during challenging periods such as the Covid-19 pandemic and continues to contribute through ongoing community initiatives, reflecting BAPS’s enduring commitment to service and social harmony.
The Mandir’s journey stands as a testament to the dedication, sacrifice and love of countless devotees, whose selfless service has ensured that satsang and seva continue to flourish. It remains a place where spiritual values and culture are nurtured and preserved, enabling traditions and devotional practices to be lived and enjoyed.
Above all, the BAPS mandir in Preston is cherished as a gift from Pramukh Swami Maharaj, and it continues to thrive under the compassionate guidance and blessings of Mahant Swami Maharaj, inspiring generations to come.
