His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj was loved and respected as one of the world's great spiritual leaders. Government officials and leaders from across Canada commemorated the inspiring and uplifting life and work of Pramukh Swami Maharaj with honours and accolades on the occasion of his centennial celebrations.
(A) Honours and accolades across Canada:
The Parliament of Canada honoured the life and work of His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj on December 7, 2021, the date of his 100th birth anniversary.
On Wednesday, December 7, 2022, the Parliament of Ontario delivered a statement to celebrate and recognize His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s Centennial Celebration.
The Parliament of Alberta declared December 7, 2022 as a day in commemoration of the 100th Birth Anniversary of Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
The Parliament of Manitoba proclaimed the date of December 7, 2022 as His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s Centennial Celebration.
The City of Toronto declared December 7, 2022 as ‘Pramukh Swami Maharaj Centennial Celebration Day’.
On December 7, 2022, the centennial birth anniversary of Pramukh Swami Maharaj, the Niagara Parks Commission, Niagara Falls Illumination Board and Hon. Monte McNaughton, Minister of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development, Province of Ontario paid tribute to his life, work and legacy with a special illumination of both the Canadian and US falls in white and orange colours honoring Pramukh Swami Maharaj and white and red representing the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha.
On the occasion of Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s centennial, the William Osler Health System Foundation installed a plaque honouring BAPS Charities and its founder Pramukh Swami Maharaj at Brampton Civic Hospital.
