A seven-day ‘Pramukh Parva’ was held at the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Nairobi to celebrate Brahmaswarup Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s 100th birthday.

The celebrations began on the 7 December 2021 (Swamishri’s birthday as per the Gregorian calendar) with a performance by youths of the ‘Sant Param Hitkari’ dance-drama that celebrates Swamishri’s exemplary life and works.

On 8 December, the teenagers and youths of Nakuru presented a program of bhajans titled ‘Sadguna Sagar Pramukh Swami’.

On 9 December, based on the theme ‘Mara Antar ni Vina Jhankare’, devotees narrated their personal experiences and interactions with Swamishri. The shishu and bal mandals also presented Swamishri’s unforgettable bhakti to God and guru.

On the 11 December (Magshar sud 8 – Swamishri’s birthday by tithi), devotees participated in the ‘Gher Gher Janmotsav’ in which they joined the spectacular 3-hour online immersive virtual celebrations.

On the morning of 12 December, devotees offered their devotion throughout the day in the ‘Akhand Bhajan Yagna’ by performing a combined total of more than 2,200 malas and 5,500 pradakshinas, and also reading the detailed biography of Pramukh Swami Maharaj (parts 1 to 5) 13 times. The evening program included video presentations, stage performances, colorful dances and discourses by swamis highlighting Swamishri’s saintly virtues.

On 13 December a special women’s program was held on the theme ‘Karu Vandana’. The program included stage performances, devotional music and speeches on the life and work of Pramukh Swami Maharaj.

The interactive and introspective celebrations provided individuals and families with a deeper appreciation of Pramukh Swami Maharaj's life and work and a firm resolve to imbibe his teachings in their daily lives.
