BAPS Mandirs across North America participated in Earth Hour, organized by the WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature), in support of protecting our planet. Earth Hour encourages individuals, communities and organizations to turn off their lights for one hour to symbolize a commitment to positive environment impact. BAPS Mandirs were unlit for one hour on March 27, 2021, 8:30 pm local time.
Earth Hour was started in Sydney in 2007, and today unites millions of people across the globe showing commitment to the planet. BAPS, inspired by His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj, is involved in Earth Hour and many other sustainability initiatives as part of a broader commitment to support positive environmental practices.
