Diwali presents South Asian-Americans with an opportunity to connect to their Indian heritage with great fanfare. To commemorate the upcoming Diwali festival, the local South Asian community in Robbinsville, NJ, organized a Diwali Parade through the town center on Sunday, October 17, 2021. With decorated vehicles and traditional attire, more than 200 individuals participated in the parade. In addition, the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Robbinsville, NJ, joined the community celebration and provided fresh vegetarian Indian food packages and sanctified traditional sweets (prasad) to participants.  

One of the Diwali Parade organizers, Amit Chopra, said, “I can’t thank you enough for the delicious food, prasad, and the efforts of BAPS volunteers.” The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Robbinsville, NJ, thanks the organizers for the wonderful cultural community event and the many volunteers who supported the festive event.
