Inauguration of Murtis & Shri Jiva Khachar's Darbar
Vachanamrut Bicentenary and Pushpadolotsav Assembly
The Vachanamrut is the foremost scripture of the Swaminarayan Sampradaya and contains Bhagwan Swaminarayan’s spiritual discourses compiled by four of his eminent paramhansas. The first discourse in the Vachanamrut is dated 21 November 1819. So, to commemorate the bicentenary of the commencement of the Vachanamrut, over the past 18 months, devotees of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha throughout the world have undertaken special devotional observances.
As a grand finale to the Vachanamrut Bicentenary Celebrations, five days of festivities have been scheduled in Gadhada, the small town which served as Bhagwan Swaminarayan’s base for over 25 years.
Among the events that will take place are:
  1. A vast Swaminarayan Nagar featuring:
    1. Four excellent exhibitions that will inspire individuals and families and to lead addiction-free, harmonious and spiritually centric lives through specially produced video films.
    2.  Statues of inspiring acharyas, saints and devotees like Shri Vallabhacharya, Sant Tulsidas, Shri Narsinh Mehta and others.
    3.  ‘Divya Sankalp Gatha’ (The Story of a Divine Wish) – a projection mapping show that together with live dances, skits and music narrates the history of Gadhada mandir.
  2. Inauguration of 25-ft murtis of Bhagwan Swaminarayan on his mare, Manki, Aksharbrahman Gunatitanand Swami and Bhaktaraj Shri Dada Khachar.
  3. Inauguration of a permanent exhibition in the renovated darbar of Bhaktaraj Shri Jiva Khachar sanctified by Bhagwan Swaminarayan.
  4. Dispersal of the sacred ashes of Brahmaswarup Pramukh Swami Maharaj into the holy River Ghela.
  5. Assembly felicitating the descendents of Bhaktaraj Shri Dada Khachar, Bhaktaraj Shri Jiva Khachar and local dignitaries of Gadhada.
  6. Special events to honor the Vachanamrut: Colorful procession through the streets of Gadhada, worship of the Vachanamrut, continuous recital of the Vachanamrut, Vachanamrut Tula.
  7. Grand concluding assembly paying homage to Bhagwan Swaminarayan and the Vachanamrut.
