BAPS once again participated in the Earth Hour, an annual event organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature, encouraging individuals, communities and organizations to turn off their lights for one hour to symbolize a commitment to the planet and to raise awareness about energy consumption.
BAPS Mandirs joined other global landmarks, such as the Swaminarayan Akshardham, Empire State Building, the Pyramids of Giza (Egypt), and the Eiffel Tower, in turning off lights in honor of Earth Hour on March 28, 2020, between 8:30-9:30 pm local time.
Earth Hour is now the world's most significant grassroots movement for the environment, uniting millions of people across the globe to show their commitment to the planet.  BAPS, inspired by His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj,  is involved in this and many other sustainability initiatives as part of a broader commitment to support safe environmental practices.
