To help during the Covid-19 pandemic, the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Mill Park donated over 930 kg of food supplies, such as rice, pasta, sauce and other items, to
Foodbank Victoria. These supplies will be sent from Foodbank’s warehouses to various charities for distribution to the needy.
Foodbank is Australia’s largest food relief organization that works with other organizations and charities to fight hunger. Foodbank provides 77 million meals a year through 2,600 charities across Australia.
Every December, BAPS conducts a Food Can Collection Drive and donates everything collected to Foodbank, The Salvation Army, the Red Cross and other charities just before Christmas. Such regular activities raise the awareness of hunger and related issues in Australia.
