Over 278 balikas, aged between 6 and 13, participated in the one-day intellectual and physical challenge tournaments held in Auckland, Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and Wellington. At each center, between 4 to 8 teams of balikas competed.
Each team had to complete a giant crossword by finding the answers to clues based on riddles, brainteasers and other puzzles. After correctly completing five mental challenges, they had to correctly complete three physical challenges. The first two teams to finish competed in a game of Kickball in the Grand Final to determine the local winner of the Bhakti Cup trophy.
