On November 11, 2017, BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Orlando, FL, hosted the sixth annual Pramukh Cup, a gathering of over 150 yuvaks, 12 centers, 2 trophies, and one goal: Samp. Eighteen volleyball and twenty basketball teams pushed their physical limits to compete and bring back the trophy to their center. At the same token, each participant pushed their spiritual and mental limits to build samp through samjan. When time was called, it was truly magnificent of how opponents made new friends. Each yuvak took the journey and lived by Swami’s ruchi. By keeping samp through seeing divyabhav in their teammates and opponents alike, they realized that each haribhakta is simply divine by his association with the Satpurush.

As the tournament came to an end, the southeast yuvaks celebrated Atlanta as the winners for volleyball tournament and Orlando as the winners of the basketball tournament. With memories made, each yuvak bid farewell as they eagerly waited for next year’s Pramukh Cup.

His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj, current spiritual leader of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, continues to build on the vision set forth by HH Pramukh Swami Maharaj of imbibing “In the Joy of others, lies our own”. Events like this tournament create an environment for yuvaks to grow together as they cherish, encourage, and thrive in their pursuit of satsang.
