More than 300 3- to 8-year-olds and their parents attended a training day in preparation for the Kidz Ultimate Challenge (KUC) – a year-long, multifaceted child development programme – held in Leicester on 18 June and in London on 25 June 2016.
The event included interactive and informative sessions focused on the overall KUC theme, ‘Rajipo: The Ultimate Goal’. Sadhus and volunteers guided participants on how to reach their potential and excel in their various competitions, while parents gained valuable insights on enhancing their child’s development and refining their parenting skills.
After an exciting opening session, sadhus elucidated Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s vision of an ideal child and reinforced Swamishri’s principle of ‘Hard Work + Prayer = Success’.
Over the course of the day, participants passed through a variety of captivating training sessions, for singing, arts and crafts, story-telling, public speaking, mono-acting and dance.
After a delicious lunch, younger children also had an opportunity to perfect their devotional practices with classes on performing mala, dandvats, panchang pranam to parents, and other observances.
The event was concluded with a fun quiz for the children, while the parents gathered for an inspiring session of their own; they watched a video presentation highlighting Swamishri’s message about nurturing children and their role in shaping the future of our world.
Both the children and parents left the day feeling enthused and better equipped for their next KUC challenges.
One parent expressed her heartfelt thanks, summing up the thoughts of many who attended the inspirational training days: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the organisers for delivering such an eye-opening event. It has allowed me to better understand my role as a parent and also realise the amount of potential my child has. We cannot wait to start preparing together as a family for the challenges. And with the grace of Swamishri, I pray we can attain his ‘rajipo’.”
