The murti-pratishtha mahotsav of the new BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir of Vansda took place on January 10, 2015 on land which has been sanctified by Bhagwan Swaminarayan and our Guru Parampara. Vansda has been blessed by the visits of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and the Akshar Purushottam guru parampara.
As part of the mandir opening in Vansda, over 1200 yajman couples participated in the Vishwa Shanti MahaYagna (yagna for world peace), followed by a nagar yatra in the afternoon in which thousands of devotees took part.
Vedic rituals for the murti-pratishtha had been performed previously by Pragat Brahmaswarup Pramukh Swami Maharaj on January 3rd, 2015 in Sarangpur. Pujya Mahant Swami performed the installation rituals at the mandir and inaugurated the Charanarvind (representation of the holy footprints of Bhagwan Swaminarayan), commemorating Bhagwan's visit to Vansda.
