BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Sydney celebrated Shri Swaminarayan Jayanti, the 233rd birth anniversary of Bhagwan Swaminarayan, and Ram Navmi, the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Shri Ram, on Sunday 13 April 2014.
This year’s program was a celebration of the life and teachings of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and Bhagwan Shri Ram. Devotees listened to spiritual kirtans and discourses followed by a stage drama set in Bhagwan Swaminarayan's time about Sir John Malcolm, the then Governor of Bombay, who was inspired by the spiritual and social reforms undertaken by Bhagwan Swaminarayan.
After the Janmotsav Arti, a folk dance was performed by the Bal, Kishore and Yuvak mandal after which Mahaprasad was served. Devotees from across Sydney attended the utsav and celebrated with enthusiasm.
