Celebrations were held over two days to mark the opening of BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Chala (Vapi). Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj had blessed the village with his visit in 1972.
On 23 December 2014, a Nagar Yatra was held in which the murtis to be installed were taken through the village streets in beautiful floats.
Through Vedic rituals the murtis that had been consecrated by Param Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj on 9 October 2014 in Sarangpur, were installed in the mandir by Pujya Bhaktipriya Swami (Pujya Kothari Swami) on 24 December 2014.
