The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Detroit, MI celebrated the 10th anniversary of the mandir with a three-day event filled with devotion and inspiration.
The festivities began on Friday, July 18th with a melodious kirtan-aradhana by the Yuvak Mandal. On Saturday, July 19th, the Mahila Mandal celebrated with a program that included folk dances, skits and inspiring speeches. The festivities continued in the evening with a cultural program with the theme of 'Shanti'. The cultural program featured youth from Michigan sharing life-changing experiences on how the mandir helped shaped their identity and maintain their cultural values. Through kirtans, skits, speeches, and video presentations, the youth showed how the mandir helped them lead a value-based life anchored with faith and community service.
On Sunday, July 20th, the celebration continued with abhishek of Shri Harikrishna Maharaj and a Vedic Mahapuja and Patotsav Vidhi. In addition, an annakut of over 110 vegetarian dishes made by the Mahila Mandal were devoutly offered to Bhagwan. Concluding the weekend of celebrations, Pujya Vivekyogi Swami highlighted key messages that His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj continuously emphasizes, the importance of satsang in everyday life, and how the mandir serves as a beacon of Hindu values and promotes service in the local community.
