Based in the theme ‘Swamina Sange – Yauvanne Ajvadiye’ (In the Company of Swamishri, Let our Youth Flourish), over 1,600 BAPS yuvaks and yuvatis from Rajkot participated in a special shibir held at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Sarangpur.
Prior to the shibir, the youths had offered devotion, austerities and prayers for Swamishri’s good health: 191 had observed 15 days of ektana, 29 had observed 15 days of dharna-parna, 283 had observed 15 days of khatras and 573 had observed 15 day of chandrayan.
On 24 August, Pujya Mahant Swami lit the inaugural divo to inaugurate the shibir. During the shibir, Pujya Mahant Swami, Pujya Doctor Swami and Pujya Viveksagar Swami gave inspirational speeches. The shibir schedule included 10 skits on various aspects of the central theme, debates, traditional dances, quizzes, workshops and other activities. The youths also honored Shri Harikrishna Maharaj and offered their devotion to him. Writing and art competitions were held.
At the end of the shibir, many youths pledged to sincerely practice satsang traditions in their daily lives.
