With the divine inspiration of Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj, an inaugural Volleyball tournament called “Amrut Cup 2013” was organised by Sydney BAPS Yuvak Mandal at the precincts of Parramatta Park on the weekend of 20-21 July.
A total of 10 teams participated with the aim of taking home the Amrut Cup. This tournament had a special message to convey to all players participating: “Work together” in the spirit of team work.
The event was split into 4 main rounds: league, quarter final, semi final and grand final. A total of over 90 sets were played by teams which were named after some of BAPS’ mandir locations: Sarangpur, Gondal, Tithal, Dhari, Atladara, Mehlav, Amdavad, Sankari, Gadhada and Chansad.
The final was played between teams Gondal and Sarangpur, with team Gondal lifting the Amrut Cup 2013 with a resounding 2 set victory over team Sarangpur.
Throughout the tournament, players learned about benefits of harmony and bonding.
