BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, Sydney, celebrated the auspicious festival of Rathyatra with great fanfare at the Baha’i Centre, Silverwater, Sydney, on 24 June 2012.
The sabha started with Dhun and Prarthana. The celebration assembly featured cultural programmes, traditional dances, kirtans, speeches and video presentations.
Based on the ancient tradition of parading the murtis of the Lord in decorated chariots at Jagannathpuri, towards the end of the assembly, two decorated raths, one bearing the murti of Harikrishna Maharaj and the other bearing the murtis of Jagannathji, Baldevji and Subhadraji were pulled by the Sydney Bal Mandal.
The sabha concluded with Arti and Mahaprasad.
