This role is revered throughout society as a Guru provides guidance and is present in the lives of his disciples in various ways. This December, MahilaMandals throughout North America celebrated the 92nd birthday of their Guru, His Holiness, Pramukh Swami Maharaj, who is a source of inspiration to many. AajMaaroJhalyoSwamieHaath, the theme for this year's celebration, resonated the feelings of many BAPS members who have been aided by Pramukh Swami Maharaj in their times of need.
The audience took part in a journey of a young girl who was attending her first shibirwhere she spoke to other devotees and learned the impact that Pramukh Swami Maharaj has left on many. Byproviding advice in business matters, assisting the youth with choosing their professional career paths, or helping devotees find jobs, Pramukh Swami Maharaj exemplifies the definition of a Guru. His entire life is spent by serving others and making a positive difference in the countless lives he has counseled and comforted.
The evening commemorated Pramukh Swami’s life through graceful dances and skits, which depicted the youth's love and appreciation for their Guru. Through the numerous short stories narrated by the children, the attendees gained a better insight on the sacrifices made by their Guru solely for their own happiness.
The celebration concluded with a short video of discourses from Pramukh Swami Maharaj, rejuvenating the love and affection of these devotees. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and devotion as they devotees present celebrated his birthday and prayed for many more to come.
