With the blessings of HDH Pramukh Swami Maharaj, the Murti Sthapan Vidhi of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Sanskardham in Syracuse, NY took place on Monday, October 9, 2006 in the presence of Pujya Kothari Swami and senior saints. The two-day festival was kick-started with a kirtan aradhana and cultural program on Sunday, October 8, 2006 in the presence of 20 saints.
On October 9, a traditional Vishvashanti Mahapuja was held in the morning. Following the mahapuja, Pujya Kothari Swami, Pujya Satyaprakash Swami and Pujya Yagnavallabh Swami joined by other santos, performed the murti-sthapan vidhi to consecrate the murtis of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and Aksharbrahm Gunatitanand Swami, Shri Radha-Krishna Dev, Guru Parampara, Shri Sita-Ram and Hanumanji, and Shri Shiv-Parvati and Ganeshji. After the ceremony, an annakut of vegetarian items, prepared by the mahila mandal was offered to the newly consecrated murtis. Volunteers from Syracuse spent months in preparation for the opening ceremony who were supported by devotees from Toronto, Rochester, Albany, Scranton, New York and Hartford. All present on the occasion were filled with joy to witness the murti-sthapan vidhi.
