Over 800 devotees gathered to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashthami at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Sydney, on Sunday 20 August 2006. The celebration assembly featured cultural programs including dramas, kirtans, speeches, dances and video presentations. One of the highlights of the program was an excellent drama by Sydney Yuvak Mandal entitled “Maavtar” which portrayed the importance of parents inculcating virtues in their children. Sydney Kishore mandal also presented a traditional dance.
Towards the end of the sabha the traditional rocking the cradle took place to signify the birth of the Lord.
